The bran we made a few weeks has been successfully used to produce the bokashi bran. Our first bin is now very close to being ready for sealing for a while whilst we wait for it to ferment. |

Spring has well and truly arrived in Skåne, and here in Billinge the trees are bursting into leaf, the flowers are appearing in the garden and fields, and the number of animals on the farm is rapidly increasing... Since the last update we have had a lot of new arrivals. |

The Brewed Liquor and making bokashi bran The bokashi was set up two weeks ago and put in its "yoghurt maker" to ferment. The liquor was ready last weekend, but we didn't have the time to get sorted, as we didn't have all the resources for stage two. This is what we did next. |

In Sweden there are several local breeds of hens of native origin. These peasant breeds are all characterized by a large variation in colour, with wild type and black, grey or white mottled being rather common. Their physical appearance also varies, with crested or tufted heads and thinly feathered legs occasionally occurring. The breed types though are rather homogenous with a robust brawny body. |

We've made some efforts to reduce our energy consumption compared to the UK, and as we're in the winter - when usage will be highest - I'm pleasantly surprised how it's going so far... |
