As of 1st June the farm has become "real". Sounds strange? Maybe, but read on...
Up until now we've run the farm as what the Swedish tax authority would regard as a hobby. From today our farm is now registered as a business. Not because we've changed our attitudes or expectations of the farm, but simply because it helps our budget. The company is called "Alledal Gård" and is registered as an Enskild Firma. The main benefits for us that we can also register for VAT (or MOMS in Sweden), which means our costs suddenly become a lot smaller - all our outgoings have VAT at 25% just about, and most of the things we sell have VAT at 12%. That discrepancy hurts us a lot! Our selling prices haven't change - they just now include VAT. We can afford to do that because of getting the VAT back on the food for the animals. So welcome to the "new" Alledal Gård. |
